Seminar on “Personal Data Protection Principles” for NOESIS Staff

The continuous training of the employees of the Science Center and Technology Museum – NOESIS and the compliance of its operation with the laws of the State and the European Union are key objectives of the Foundation’s management, which places particular emphasis on the development of skills and the training of its human resources. In this context, NOESIS staff members attended a seminar by specialized lawyers on “Personal Data Protection Principles”, as – according to the current institutional framework – personal data training concerns all employees, regardless of their role or level in the hierarchy if they process personal data. Article 24 of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires controllers to implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure and be able to demonstrate that processing is carried out in accordance with the Regulation. Therefore, staff training is part of these organizational measures, while controllers must: • Take care of all necessary technical and organizational measures to ensure the protection of personal data in accordance with the General Principles provided by the Regulation. • Develop privacy policies. • They are able to demonstrate their compliance with the regulation. • They are able to respond to the subjects’ requests regarding their personal data. • Appoint a Data Protection Officer, if required. The management of NOESIS, as its President, Dr. Styliani Bezergianni, is committed to proceed each time with the necessary training of the Staff -through the implementation of information, education and awareness actions- and to proceed with the drafting of data protection policies and procedures.
