AI Talks – the Minister of Digital Governance, D. Papastergiou and the scientist, G. Assael discuss AI 26.4.2024
On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, NOESIS, among other activities, organizes a series of open discussions entitled “AI-Talks” on artificial intelligence, the opportunities and challenges that emerge through its rapid development and almost universal penetration into all aspects of human activity, such as medicine, law, in information technology, education, culture, journalism, but also in industry, which are under the auspices of under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Governance.
The aim is to conduct a total of eight discussions with speakers who will contribute to proper information, highlighting the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence with interdisciplinarity in research, education, society and entrepreneurship, removing technophobia and ensuring ethics in its application.
The first discussion “AI-Talks: Opportunities and challenges” will take place on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 13:00-14:00, at NOESIS, between the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou and the distinguished scientist, Yiannis Assael, asking questions such as what is Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI, what are the first steps in learning it, where Greece is today, what is the planning for the coming years and in what areas the country can innovate, what is the importance of interdisciplinary research, how can we be prepared for the future, but also how we can protect ourselves. The discussion will be moderated by journalist Maria Samolada.
In this way, NOESIS wishes to present to the general public and especially to pupils and students, substantiated views on this contemporary concern, enhancing its social role as an institution of non-formal education, while honoring the warm response it has received all these years, proving that Greece innovates and can be transformed into a digital state for the benefit of people.
On the same day, after the event, the exhibition of CERTH-ITI entitled “Artificial Intelligence: Capabilities and Challenges” will be inaugurated, where the scope and content is based on the results of five research projects: AI4Media, MedDMO, vera.ai, Artcast4D and MAMMOth of the Knowledge, Multimedia and Network Analysis laboratory.
