Award of Ioannis Papaefstathiou from the Education Region of Central Macedonia and NOESIS

On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, a teleconference was held between the Regional Director of Education, Thomas Baharakis and the Chairman of the Board. of NOESIS, Michalis Sigalas and the General Director of the Foundation, Thanassis Kontonikolaou. The purpose of the online meeting was the award of the former General Secretary of the Foundation, Ioannis Papaefstathiou, by the Education Region and NOESIS for his long-term contribution to the promotion of student innovation.

During the meeting, reference was made to the work of Mr. Papaefstathiou at the Technical Museum of Thessaloniki, where he was a founding member since 1978 and his role was mentioned later, both in the creation of NOESIS and in the educational activities of the Foundation from the position of General Secretary.

His love for student innovation was manifested through the establishment and co-organization of the Student Informatics Conference, by holding dozens of educational exhibitions, events and conferences, actions which he supported to a significant extent with his organizational skills.

The Education Region and NOESIS honor and recognize the timeless contribution and work of enlightened personalities, such as Mr. Papaefstathiou, to the student and educational community.
